Social Committee

The Social Committee are the beautiful people who make sure there’s plenty of hockey to be enjoyed off the pitch as well as on. Each year sees them work tirelessly to deliver, as a minimum, the following:

The New Members Party – Organised for the second or third week of the season, it’s an opportunity to get together as a club and welcome our new members. It’s a fancy dress phenomenon which each and every team is desperate to win. When the awards happen at the end of season Annual Dinner, “Best Dressed Team” is the one EVERYONE wants their name on.   The New Member’s Party usually happens in one of South West London’s finest drinking establishments. We thank each and every one that has been kind enough to host us over the years.

The Christmas Party – Tis the season to be jolly and the Social Committee understand that. That’s why they organise festive frivolities for all to enjoy. “Officially” less formal in terms of fancy dress (for those who don’t want to win that coveted Best Dressed Team) there’s always a theme and it’s always good fun.  My retinas are still burning from the garishness of last year’s “Christmas Jumpers”.

Annual Dinner – A club wouldn’t be a club without an annual black tie event and this is ours. Always a fantastic turnout and always a fantastic dinner, the Social Committee go all out for this one and the club is VERY thankful (you guys rock!). With the Ladies all looking lush and the Gents tux’d from top to tail this is always a great evening that sees the club members rewarded for their hardwork both on and off the pitch. People will tell you that the most coveted award is “Team of the Year” (based on ratio of games won) but they would be lying. It is, of course, “Best Dressed Team”.

The Social Committee are always looking for new people to help out, so please contact Gemma if you want to get involved.
