U18G Success !

Congratulations to Ricky and the RHC U18 girls who took home the Home Counties League cup in the finals on Sunday.

After winning every league match this season the U18 girls team qualified for the finals  held at Woking on Sunday.  The team looked determined and organised from the start and quickly took the lead against Epsom with a goal from a short corner which was straight off the training ground – a strike from Lauren neatly deflected in at the post by Shanae.  A penalty flick, very calmly dispatched by Jess, made it 2-0.  Two more goals quickly followed and Richmond romped home 4-0 winners.  The final match against Guildford was an equally convincing 4-0 win with another goal from a penalty flick from Jess, an incredible angled goal from Lara, and 2 showpiece goals from Lauren.  The girls played some wonderful hockey with every single one of them contributing to the victory.  The team has been coached by Ricky for 10 years and the organisation, skills and tactics he has helped develop were all on show.

A fitting farewell  for Lauren, Jess, Alice and Priya  for whom this was their last ever junior match.
