Men's 1st & 2nd XI - Champions

Quite the end to the 2022/23 Season at The Hogg this weekend as both M2 and M1 were promoted as Champions of their respective divisions.

First up on Saturday the Men's 2nd XI secured a point in a 2-2 draw with Crostyx having won 18 of their 22 games scoring 118 goals in the process finishing with a goal difference of +82 !

Congratulations to all the boys lead by skipper Tim Johnson, coach Arjan Drayton Chana and manager Mike Rose.

They will now play in London League Division 1 in Season 2023/24.

Then onto Sunday where the 1's needed a win to secure the title on the basis that Spencer scoring 17 or so away at Wapping to bridge the goal difference gap was a little unlikely.....

A big crowd turned up - i wish i'd had my counters.... the estimate was in the region of 150 but whatever it was it was great to see !

There were a few nervous moments but at 4-2 the final whistle went after Indian Gym had been been awarded a PC which they scored to bring the season to a glorious end with a 4-3 win. As it was Spencer scored 7 away at Wapping so promotion has been secured on goal difference having won 14 of their 18 games top scoring the division with 77 goals.

Huge congratulations to everyone after missing out last season - lead by skipper Scott Wall, coach David Goodfield and manager Ben Blake.

Honourable mention to Josh Smith scoring 2 goals today who was also part of our last National League winning season back in 2016.

The 1's will now play in England Hockey Divsion 1 (South) in Season 2023/24.
